Cleo getting her first chance to work a retrieve outside with her platform blind. We started with hand targeting at 9 weeks and basic obedience to include crate training. Next did the Dixie cup drills followed by return to hand with a dumbbell that required shaping via successive approximation. We then moved from the dumbbell to a bumper and added a platform inside. First time working the drill down at the local park. We added distance on each iteration.

Cleo’s third session working with the dumbbell and using successive approximation to get her to return to hand and build in the fetch command. She returned it for the first time tonight and I think it clicked for her.
